Another week has flown by and it has been an unforgettable week, rich in observations, wonderful lectures from EAL specialists and the beginning of our teaching odyssey!
Across the week, we were amazed by the excellent examples of “Teachers of the World” mindset permeating school culture.
We have immersed ourselves in a wide variety of enrichment opportunities, strengthening our connections with our remarkable pupils and staff! With such a broad range of enrichment opportunities, we have been inspired by the holistic outlook on education the school exhibits. Watching expert practitioners lead extra-curricular clubs left us in awe of the dedication of staff to a pupils learning journey in school.
At BSB, we feel so privileged to be student teachers, getting involved in lessons with our classes, from learning gymnastics with brilliant gym facilities, to learning to play the ukelele in the music department!
Our first week of teaching has been a wonderful snapshot into the life of a teacher in BSB, filled to the brim with innovativeteaching opportunities, teaching maths with foam pizzas, discovering properties of light by building a dark tent and teaching English with charades.
As our teaching responsibility builds up next week, we are extremely excited to utilise a wide range of resources to be creative and give the pupils the best possible learning opportunities. Every lesson is an opportunity for us to expand our horizons as teachers, and we are embracing any and every chance to grow.
Heading into next week, we hope all the trainees back home have had a wonderful start to their placement, and we are excited to catch up on all your teaching experiences!
