Hi everyone, so excited to catch you up on what we have been up to at BSB as trainees of Embrace SCITT!
From Manchester to Tervuren, we have had an unforgettable first week. In a lovely town, filled with restaurants, green spaces, close to the city, we have started to explore the area. Next on the agenda will be Belgian beer and crepes!
Our BSB launch has been an absolute whirlwind of a week, wow! Our week started off with two fantastic days of CPD and plenty of pastries! From the moment we stepped in the door, we have been welcomed with open arms to the BSB community, mentors, and the wonderful staff.
The striking thing when you talk to the staff is the exceptional BSB culture shining through in each and every interaction. As trainees, we have witnessed a common theme of growth mindset widespread across the community in droves. Practitioners are both expert teachers and expert learners, always open to ideas. In the spirit of internationalism, we have learnt invaluable information from teachers and staff, and we have had the chance to share our knowledge with the teachers too! Everyone you talk to is so passionate and an expert in their field. With such remarkable support, we feel very inspired and ready to teach our socks off!
After our induction (with plenty more pastries) we met our classes for the first time. We were greeted with warm welcomes by the pupils and have now spent a full day immersing ourselves in the classroom.
Next week, the real fun begins, with our teaching beginning, we are extremely proud to represent Embrace SCITT in the BSB classrooms and show off everything we have learnt. We hope everyone back home is acclimatizing well to their new school and cannot wait to hear what you have been up to!
