The key features of our Full Induction Programme for ECTs are:
- Wherever possible, localised face to face ‘live’ sessions with a consistent facilitator
- Year 1 - Cross-phase cohorts to broaden understanding of the system as a whole and promote effective transition
- Year 2 - Subject/ phase specific cohorts to deepen understanding of the ECTs particular specialism
- Weekly mentor sessions to include: drop-ins, feedback and topic discussion
- Self directed study, broken into manageable weekly sessions ranging from 30-60 minutes
Early Career Teachers
To be eligible for a funded induction, ECTs must hold QTS with a valid TRN and have a contract that is likely to last for more than one term. If an ECT started on a short term supply contract, which extends beyond a term, the school has a responsibility to ensure they can access the Induction.
Funding
For eligible schools, all training on the Provider-led programme delivered by Embrace is funded by the DfE at no cost to schools. Visit the DfE to check your school's eligibility or contact us at tsh@embrace-education.co.uk.
In addition to funded training, schools receive a payment of £1100 per ECT and £700 per Mentor in Year 2, alongside an extra total payment of £721.68 to backfill 20 hours of Mentor training. These payments are specific to the 25/26 academic year and made directly by the DfE to your school, and are dependent on correctly registering your ECTs and Mentors on the DfE service, and also the engagement of your ECTs and Mentors which must be a minimum of 75%.
